MacSplat 1.1.0 beta
Turn a folder of photos or a video into a Gaussian splat, entirely on your Mac.
Free beta. Coming soon to the Mac App Store.
What's in it
- Photo folder or video in → camera poses with COLMAP (Metal SIFT) → Gaussian-splat training → viewer and export.
- Large scenes are split into cells that each fit your Mac's memory, then merged.
- Model size presets: Light 500K, Standard 1M, High 2M, Ultra 4M Gaussians, or your own number.
- Resume a run that was cancelled or interrupted.
Requirements
- macOS 26 or later, Apple Silicon.
- Free disk: MacSplat needs at least 10 GB free to start a run; large scenes need more.
Known issues
- No automatic model-size recommendation yet: pick a preset. Bigger means more detail, more memory and a longer run.
- 360° video is not supported yet; MacSplat recognises it and won't start.
- By default, one photo in eight is held out to measure quality and isn't used for training (turn Eval Mode off to train on all of them).
